Trial Court

The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week of July 7, 2014:

  •  Robin Lee Bates, 48, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of larceny-less than $200. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 9 a.m. Bond of $2,500, ten percent was posted with the condition of no entry at Ace Hardware.
  •  Aaron Michael Burrell, 30, of Baldwin, had charges of operating intoxicated-third, resisting and obstructing an officer, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, failure to stop/ I.D. after a personal injury accident and driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate dismissed without prejudice.
  •  Eric Langston-Monroe Campbell. 29, of Detroit, was arraigned on a charge of failure to appear. A preliminary examination was scheduled for July 15, 2014. Bond was set at $!0,000, ten percent.
  •  Duane Allen Flynn, 28, of Luther, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance-less than 25 grams and habitual offender/second offense notice. The defendant is to be sentenced on July 29, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was continued.
  •  Ryan Wayne Knox,22, of Reed City, was arraigned on a charge of disorderly person-drunk. A pretrial was scheduled for July 14, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  •  Stephen Uel Metcalfe, 53, of Kalamazoo, pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly person-drunk. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail, to serve 11 now, with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  •  Caleb James Moore, 40, of Luther, was arraigned on charges of assault/assault and battery. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 2 p.m. Bond was continued with the condition of no contact.
  •  John Michael Pyne, 19, of Irons, was arraigned on charges of trespass and assault/assault and battery. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent, with a condition of no contact with the victim.
  •  Mason Alan Salisbury, 25, of Free Soil, was arraigned on a charge of assault/assault and battery. A pretrial is scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000, ten percent, with a condition of no contact with the victim.
  •  Rabecca Ann Sanders, 28, of Reed City, was arraigned on a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 2 p.m. The defendant is free on a personal recognizance bond.
  •  Randall Jay Smith, 48, of Grand Haven, was arraigned on a charge of malicious destruction of personal property-less than $200. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. Bond of $3,500, ten percent was posted.
  •  Randall Jay Smith, 48, of Grand Haven was arraigned on a charge of assault/assault and battery. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. Bond of $3,500, ten percent was continued with a condition of no contact.
  •  Debbie Sue Stiller, 59, of Ludington, was arraigned in Circuit Court on charges of possession of a controlled substance-non-narcotic and operating while intoxicated/impaired/in the presence of a controlled substance-second. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. A surety bond of $7,500 was continued.
  •  Ronald Joseph Suchomski, 38, of Baldwin, pleaded no contest to a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, license suspended for one year, restricted license after 60 days.
  •  Kwame Shaquelle Verhulst, 20, of Muskegon, was arraigned on charges of home invasion-first degree, domestic violence, assault/assault and battery, malicious destruction of personal property less than $200, and habitual offender/second offense notice. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 9 a.m. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond with a condition of no contact with the victim.
  •  Charlie Jame Washington, 51, of Baldwin, was sentenced to one year in jail on two charges of probation violation, concurrent with other charges, with credit for time served. Probation was provoked.
  •  Cy Shelton Williams, 26, of Baldwin pleaded no contest to an added charge of disorderly person and guilty to a charge of criminal contempt of court. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail, to serve 10 days now concurrent with the contempt charge, The condition of no contact with the victim was continued. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed.
  •  Cy Shelton Williams, 26, of Baldwin, pleaded no contest to a charge of retail fraud-third degree. The defendant was sentenced to 93 days in jail, to serve 10 days now, concurrent with the contempt of court charge and no entry at the EZ mart for one year.
  •  Keosha Val Williams, 23, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A pretrial was scheduled for July 17, 2014 at 9 a.m. A surety bond of $5,000, ten percent was posted.
