Trial Court

The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending May 20, 2015:

  • Chandra Shanel Burgin, 35, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic violence. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A bond condition of no contact was continued.
  • Dustin Lee Clemens, 26, of Baldwin was arraigned on charges of operating intoxicated- third, fleeing and eluding- fourth degree and driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 2, 2015. Bond of $7,500, 10 percent, with a condition of no alcohol or drugs was posted.
  • Joneugene Otto Coleman, 35, of Idlewild, was arraigned on charges of resisting and obstructing a police officer and trespass. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 2, 2015. Bond was set at $5,000, 10 percent.
  • Joneugene Otto Coleman, 35, of Idlewild, was arraigned on a charge of attempted assault with a dangerous weapon. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 2, 2015. Bond was set at $5,000, 10 percent.
  • Michael Clayton Corbett, 38, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to a charge of sex offender- failure to register. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $668, crime victims restitution of $130 and one year in jail, two days now and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. Charges of operating a motor vehicle without security and improper plates were dismissed.
  • Paul David Loomis, 35, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of child abuse- fourth degree. The defendant was sentenced to one year in jail, to serve 10 now with credit for time served of three days and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. The bond condition of no contact with the victim was continued. Charges of child- accosting for immoral purposes and child abuse- third degree were dismissed.
  • Jaci Rae Miller, 23, of Irons, was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle without security and driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 21, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Sidick Junior Singleton, 42, of Wyoming, MI, was arraigned on charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate and operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on June 2, 2015. Bond was set at $2,500, 10 percent.
