Trial Court

The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending August 1, 2013:

Michael Ryan Albaugh, 24, of Fountain, pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal contempt of court. Sentencing is scheduled for August 27, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.

Ryan Leith Bannister, 44, of Luther, pleaded no contest to an added charge of sex offender-attempted failure to comply with report duties. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail, to serve 2 days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of sex offender-failure to comply with reporting duties was dismissed.

Rebecca Lynn Beachler, 36, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating-maintaining a lab/controlled substance/methamphetamin. Sentencing was scheduled for August 27, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. A charge of possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamin/ecstacy was dismissed.

Doris Marie Finley, 46, of Irons. pleaded guilty to an added charge of receiving and concealing stolen property-less than $200. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275, and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of breaking and entering without breaking but with intent was dismissed.

Nichole Marie Gilleran, 24, of Idlewild, pleaded guilty to driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.

Kenneth Lee Hamilton, 23, of Fountain, was arraigned on a charge of larceny-$1,000 or more-less than $20,000. A preliminary examination was scheduled for August 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. Bond was set at $7,500, ten percent.

Donald Edward Hayes,44, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance. The defendant was sentenced to 30 days in jail, two days now, with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court, 12 months probation, drivers license suspended six months, 30 days hard, fines and costs of $668, crime victims restitution of $130, and a supervision fee of $120. Defendant may possess bow and arrows. Charges of delivery/manufacture/controlled substance/5-45KGS marijauna and weapons-felony firearm were discharged.

John Alan Huck, 52, of Ludington, pleaded guilty to an added charge of operating while intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $1,150, 92 days in jail, to serve 20 now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of operating with a high blood alcohol count was dismissed.

Shane Alanlee Iverson Cole, 36, of Luther, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A jury trial was scheduled for August 28, 2013 at 9 a.m. Bond of $5,000, ten percent was posted.

Steve Anthony Maka, 47, of Marne pleaded no contest to an added charge of disturbing the peace. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275, 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year and a condition of no contact with the victim. A charge of assault/assault and battery was dismissed.

Michelle Lynn Miller, 19, of Grand Rapids, was arraigned on a charge of unlawful driving away of an automobile. A pretrial was scheduled for August 8, 2013 at 9 a.m. Bond of $5,000, ten percent was continue.

Steven Russell Montgomery, 51, of Baldwin, pleaded no contest to a charge of assault/assault and battery. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275, 93 days in jail, to serve 27 now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. The condition of no contact with the victim is continued and no use of alcohol also continued.

Jeffrey Glenn Moore, 37, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, and one year in jail, to serve 7 days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed.

Travis Larry Pellegrom, 20, of Fruitport, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, license suspended for six months and restricted license after 30 days. A charge of alcohol-purchase/consumption/possession by a minor was dismissed.

Cain Eugene Smith, 34, of Mount Pleasant, pleaded no contest to a charge of uttering and publishing and guilty to a charge of criminal contempt of court. Sentencing was scheduled for August 27, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. A second charge of uttering and publishing was dismissed. Bond was set at $15,000, ten percent.

Timothy John Streeter, 24, of Grandville, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle without security. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, and one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.

Mark Thomas Tilton, 28, of Grand Rapids, was arraigned on charges of unlawfully driving away an automobile, fleeing and eluding-fourth degree and driving while license expired. A preliminary examination was scheduled for August 6, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $15,000, ten percent.

Matthew Ryan Zierke, 26, of Tustin, was arraigned on a charge of assault/assault and battery. A non-jury trial was scheduled for August 9, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.

David Alan Zordell, 30, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A pretrial was scheduled for August 8, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent with a condition of no contact with the victim and no entry at the victim’s address.
