Trial Court

The following action was taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending April 22, 2015:

  • Nick Adam Clemens, 39, of Baldwin, had a charge of disorderly person-drunk dismissed.
  • Nick Adam Clemens, 39, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to malicious use of telecommunication services. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $300, six months in jail, to serve 45 days now, with credit for time served with the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year, to do OPT and no alcohol.
  • Nick Adam Clemens, 39, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of disorderly person. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 7, 2015. A sentence of 60 days in jail with a condition of no alcohol was imposed from the previous charge. Bond was set at $7,500, ten percent.
  • Michael Clayton Corbett, 38, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to charges of sex offender-failure to register. Sentencing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 19, 2015. Charges of operating a motor vehicle without security and improper plates were dismissed.
  • Nancy Lee Fullerton, 52, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of false report of a misdemeanor. A non-jury trial was scheduled for 10 a.m. on May 21, 2015. Bond was continued.
  • Michael Simon Haddad, 27, of Idlewild, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A criminal plea was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 20, 2015. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent.
  • Doris Marlina Hawkins, 40, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of receiving and concealing stolen property-less than $200. A pretrial was scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 7, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Kyle Anthony Himba, 19, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of breaking and entering-illegal entry without owners permission. A pretrial was scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 7, 2015. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Billy James Kirsch, 46, of Reed City, pleaded no contest in Circuit Court to a charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer. The defendant was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail with credit for time served of three days and to serve weekends to begin on April 17, 2015, fines and costs of $668 and crime victims restitution of $130. Two charges of domestic violence were dismissed.
  • Jerome Anthony Lewis III, 39, of Birely, had a preliminary examination and was bound over to Circuit Court on charges of homicide-open murder-first degree, accessory after the fact/felony and two charges of habitual offender-fourth offense notice. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 27, 2015. One charge of habitual offender/fourth offense notice was dismissed. Bond was continued.
  • William Little, 64, of Irons, pleaded no contest to a charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer. The defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail, six days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court, fines and costs of $668 and crime victims rights of $130. A charge of fleeing and eluding-fourth degree was dismissed.
  • Bruce Allen Luckritz, 53, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of retail fraud-third degree. A notice of criminal plea was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 20, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond with a condition of no entry at Baldwin E-Z Mart.
  • Nathan James Maguire, 33, of Reed City, pleaded guilty to one charge of sex offender-failure to register. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $668, crime victim's restitution of $130, 90 days jail, concurrent, to begin May 1, 2015, with time served of one day. Two charges of sex offender-fail to register were dismissed.
  • Todd William Maguire, 45, of Reed City, was arraigned on a charge of domestic violence. A pretrial was scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 7, 2015. Bond was set at $3,500, ten percent, with a condition of no contact with the victim or entry to the victim's residence.
  • Dwight Alan Mason, 38, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of child abuse-third degree. A preliminary examination was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 28, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • James Edgar Newville Jr., 35, of Ravenna, pleaded guilty to charges of operating while intoxicated and medical marijuana-improper transport . The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $1,150 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year for the first charge and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year on the second charge. Charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate and possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle-passenger were dismissed.
  • Tamond Jamall Meeks, 21, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of retail fraud-third degree. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 5, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond with a condition of no entry to Pattie Drug.
  • Gerald Rex Plummer, 31, of Chase, was arraigned on two charges of sex offender-failure to register. A preliminary examination was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 4, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Dallas Trent Roger. 22, of Big Rapids, was arraigned on a charge of home invasion-third degree. A preliminary examination was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 28, 2015. Bond was set at $7,500, ten percent.
  • Marsha Jeanetta Ross, 66, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to improper transport-medical marijuana. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  • Nina Marie Sherman, 31, of Idlewild, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on May 5, 2015. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Natasha Marie Smith, 30, of Big Rapids, pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to stop at the scene of a property damage accident. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $275 and 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of reckless driving was dismissed.
  • Elizabeth Karen Tomkins, 51, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle without security. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375 and one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  • Thomas Robert Clark Umstead, 28, of Mears, was arraigned on a charge of possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle-passenger. A pretrial was scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 7, 2015. Bond of $1,500, ten percent was continued.
  • Robert Anthony Wolever-Newcom, 34, of Walhalla, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated and an added charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $1,150, victim's restitution of $100 and $30 assessment fee and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year on the first charge and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year on the added charge.
