The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court the week ending March 25, 2015:

  • Bernadette Marie-McCoy Anderson, 60, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for 9 a.m. on April 16, 2015. Bond of $2,500, ten percent was continued.
  • Mark Anthony Drain, 39, of Wyoming, MI, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 31, 2015. Bond of $3,500, ten percent was continued.
  • Pierre Donquez Earl pleaded guilty in Circuit Court to a charge of larceny by conversion, $1,000 but less than $20,000. Sentencing was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 21, 2015. A charge of habitual offender-fourth offense notice was dismissed.
  • Gregory Alan Fullerton, 61, of Baldwin, had a charge of domestic violence dismissed.
  • Charles Edwin Howe, 63, of Benton Harbor, was arraigned on charges of operating intoxicated-third and possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle-passenger. A preliminary examination was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 7, 2015. Bond was set at $10,000, ten percent with a condition of no alcohol.
  • Randy Scott Libey, 48, of Chase, was arraigned on charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate and operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 2, 2015. Bond of $3,500, ten percent, was posted.
  • Travis Lawrence Martin, 23, of Reed City, pleaded guilty to added charges of trespassing on an ORV and operating an ORV while operators rights were suspended. On the first charge, the defendant was sentenced to 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year, On the second added charge, the defendant was sentenced to $285 in fines and costs and 90 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate-second/subsequent was dismissed.
  • Kevin Quincy McKinney, 35, of Idlewild, was arraigned on charges of attempted malicious destruction of property-fire or police property and three counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer. A preliminary examination was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 7, 2015. Bond of $7,500, ten percent, was continued.
  • Tony Irvin Nichols, 28, of Branch, pleaded guilty to an added charge of operating impaired. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $1,100 with six months to pay and 93 days in jail, to serve 7 days now with credit for time served and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next  year.
  • Terrence Patrick OToole, 53, of Muskegon, was arraigned of a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 16, 2015. bond of $5,000, ten percent was continued.
  • Willard James Reid, 54, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, with 90 days to pay, and one year in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year.
  • Gary Eugene Richardson, 66, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating impaired. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $1,130 and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.
  • Michel Franklin Rider, 30, of Irons, pleaded no contest to an added charge of aggravated assault. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $375, one year in jail, to serve 30 days now and the balance at the discretion of the court over the next year. Defendant is to report beginning March 23, 2015. A charge of assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed.
  • Jeffrey Scott Robinson,53, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of retail fraud-third degree. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 31, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Brian John Rasmussen, 49, of Luther, was arraigned on a charge of operating a snowmobile under the influence of liquor/per se and operating a snowmobile without a helmet. A pretrial was scheduled for 11 a.m. on April 16, 2015. Bond of $3,500, ten percent was continued.
  • James David Sisson, 28, of Irons, was arraigned on a charge of disturbing the peace. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 2, 2015. the defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Cheryl Ann Scannell, 54, of White Cloud, was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 31, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Clarency Byron Bernard Scott, 35, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to an added charge of no proof of insurance. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $185 with 90 days to pay in full. A charge of operating a motor vehicle without security was dismissed.
  • Alex Craig Tate, 49, of Idlewild, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. The defendant was sentenced to fines and costs of $1,180, with six months to pay, and 93 days in jail at the discretion of the court over the next year. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate was dismissed.
  • Patricia Eileen Tjapkes, 32, of Baldwin, had a charge of threatening DHS employee w/physical harm dismissed.
  • Amber Lynn Wiese, 30, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of truancy. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on March 31, 2015. The defendant was free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Derek Allen Williams, 38, of Idlewild, was arraigned in Circuit Court on a charge of sexual offender-failure to comply-third offense notice. A pretrial was scheduled for 9 a.m. on April 2, 2015. Bond remained at $5,000, ten percent.
  • Matthew Tristan Wright, 27, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. A pretrial was scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 2, 2015. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.
