Trial Court: 1-12-12

The following actions were taken in Lake County Trial Court for the week ending Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012:

Michael Timothy McClure, 56, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Pretrial was scheduled for Jan. 19 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

Kip John Thomas, 48, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of domestic violence, assault and battery, and resisting and obstructing a police officer. Preliminary examination was scheduled for Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was continued at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

Machelle Denise McDaniel, 46, of Branch, was bound over to circuit court on charges of possession of cocaine less than 25 grams and operating with a high blood-alcohol content.

Robert Joseph Myers, 74, of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault and battery. Pretrial was scheduled for Jan. 12 at 9 a.m. The defendant is free on $2,500 bond.

Robert John Kuempel III, 27, of Scotts, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and battery. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250 and to serve 93 days; two days now (CTS) and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.
