Thinking of spring and spring cleaning

St. Ignatius Catholic Church is holding a Spaghetti Dinner on March 26, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults. Children 10 and younger – you decide the price!

An auction will be held throughout the evening of various items, including pieces of Haitian artwork.  Please come out and support our mission to improve the lives of children.  We are raising money toward the construction of a school in the village of Dumas, Haiti.  We need your help. Everyone invited and welcome. Music by Mike Schmuck.

Questions, to volunteer or donate an item for auction, please call 797-5702.

You wouldn’t know it by listening to the weather forecast, since it is calling for a storm tonight and tomorrow, with a forecast of six to ten inches of snow, but it is supposed to be spring now!  If you are thinking spring, and doing spring cleaning, maybe you could start with your book cases and pack up your used books to bring to the Luther Library Book Sale which will take place on March 25 and 26. The sale starts on Friday, at 11 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Saturday the sale starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 1:30 p.m. I have a set of like new encyclopedias, which they tell me are obsolete, but I sure hate to throw them in the trash. If anyone out there would like to have them, feel free to call me at (231) 797-5541. Otherwise, I guess I will have to find a place that recycles to take them to.

While you are in the Spring cleaning mode, consider bringing your no longer needed household items to St. Ignatius Church to be included in our Spring Rummage Sale, which will take place in May. Items can be brought to the church basement after mass on Sunday, or you can call any church member to schedule bringing items in to donate. If you don’t know who to call, feel free to call me at (231) 797-5541. All donations are welcome. I don’t have an exact date for the sale today, but I will check it out and get back to you with a

date.

Thought for the week: The only place success comes before sweat is in the dictionary.

Have a great week.
