LUTHER — Area residents are invited to warm up with some chili during the 10th Tailgate Chili Cook-Off in downtown Luther, one of the town’s biggest events.

State Street, closed off to traffic during the event, will be humming with activity as competitors face off for the best kettle of piping hot chili.

The chili will be cooked on-site beginning at 10 a.m., and the tasting will be open for the public to enjoy at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Each year, also participants go all-out for best use of theme, with “Create Your Own Top-10 List,” chosen for this year’s event.

The event is a fundraiser for the Luther Days Association.

People can taste all entries for $5 and are allowed one vote per category. Prizes will be awarded for best-tasting chili and best use of the theme.

Contestants can check in at the Ellsworth Township Hall.
