TRIAL COURT for 6-30-2011

The following actions were taken in Lake County trial court for the week ending Thursday, June 9, 2011:

• David Louis Lee Jr., 33, of Flint, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance (second offense) and resisting and obstructing a police officer. Charges of delivering or manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana) and an additional count of possession of a controlled substance (second offense) were dismissed. Sentencing was scheduled for July 11 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was continued; the defendant was currently lodged.

• Joshua Paul Schlink, 25, of Newaygo, was arraigned on a charge of second-degree home invasion. Preliminary examination was scheduled for June 27 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $25,000; the defendant was currently lodged.

• Dean Comrade McCallum, 31, of Baldwin, had charges of second-degree home invasion, larceny less than $200, and of being an habitual offender (fourth offense) dismissed.

• Kyle Michael Himes, 24, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense) was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to serve 93 days; seven days now and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.

• Michael Thomas Jankoviak, 23, of Custer, was arraigned on a charge of probation violation. A hearing was scheduled for June 21 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Nick Adam Clemens, 35, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of probation violation. A hearing was scheduled for June 20 at 2 p.m. Bond was set at $25,000; the defendant was currently lodged.

• Robert Lewis Jamison, 52, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny by conversion ($200 — $1,000). The defendant was sentenced to pay restitution of $750 and to serve one year; 56 days now (CTS) and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.

n Rhonda Kae Krenz, 52, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny less than $200. A charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250 and to serve 93 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

• Matthew John Schaab, 38, of Holland, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault and battery. Pretrial was scheduled for July 7 at 2 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Tammy Kay Hanstine, 47, of Three Rivers, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless operation of an ORV. A charge of operating an ORV while under the influence of liquor was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $350.

• Michael Adam Manley, 26, of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of malicious destruction of personal property less than $200. Pretrial was scheduled for June 16 at 9 a.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Andrew Charles Glass, 23, of Grand Rapids, pleaded not guilty to a charge of breaking and entering/illegal entry without the owner’s permission. Pretrial was scheduled for July 7 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Matthew John Spalo, 24, of Bitely, pleaded not guilty to a charge of breaking and entering/illegal entry without the owner’s permission. Pretrial was scheduled for July 7 at 2 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Amanda Ruth Johnson, 28, of Fountain, pleaded not guilty to a charge of third-degree retail fraud. Pretrial was scheduled for July 7 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Amy Elizabeth Fitzgerald, 42, of Irons, pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree retail fraud. Sentencing was scheduled for June 13 at 1:30 p.m.

• Kyle Lee Jacobs, 21, of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault and battery. Pretrial was scheduled for June 16 at 9 a.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Priscilla Denice Dukes, 27, of Luther, pleaded not guilty to a charge of domestic violence. Pretrial was scheduled for June 16 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on $3,500 bond.

• Matthew Thomas Buitendyk, 21, of Grand Rapids, pleaded not guilty to charges of OWI and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Pretrial was scheduled for July 7 at 11 a.m. The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

• Megan Marie Rose, 18, of Luther, pleaded not guilty to a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. Pretrial was scheduled for July 7 at 2 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Philander Williams Love, 31, of Bitely, pleaded no contest to a charge of possession of cocaine less than 25 grams. A charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate was dismissed. Sentencing was scheduled for July 12 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on $10,000 bond.

• Anthony Buchanan, 45, of Baldwin, pleaded no contest to a charge of embezzlement under $200 by an agent or trustee. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250, restitution of $30, and to serve 93 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

• Fredreick Donell Ezell, 53, of Wyoming, had a charge of assault and battery dismissed.

• Damara Quintel Brewer, 23, of Big Rapids, had a charge of assault and battery dismissed.

• Louis Edward Hadad, of Livonia, admitted responsibility for a charge of having an insufficient number of personal flotation devices. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $105.

• Derek Michael Crosby, of Cadillac, pleaded guilty to a charge of no cycle endorsement. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $131.

• Daniel Lewis Dewitt, of Grandville, admitted responsibility for a charge of use of a vehicle in a closed area of state land. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $80.

• Thomas Crookston Matecun, of Grand Rapids, admitted responsibility for a charge of use of a vehicle in a closed area of state land. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $80.

• Dallas James Lane, of Wyoming, pleaded guilty to a charge of camping without registering. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $95.

• Mark Edward Devree, of Coopersville, admitted responsibility for a charge of use of a vehicle in a closed area of state land. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $80.

• L. G. Roberts, of Lake, pleaded guilty to a charge of fishing in a closed stream. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $160.

The following actions were taken in Lake County trial court for the week ending Thursday, June 23, 2011:

• Steven Henry Crawford, 57, of Wayland, pleaded guilty to charge of delivering or manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana). The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $798, a supervision fee of $360, and to serve 16 days (two days CTS) and 18 months’ probation. His drover’s license is suspended; restricted license after 60 days.

• Gregorgy Lewis Jennings, 22, of Grand Rapids, was found guilty of probation violation. The defendant was sentenced to serve 12 months; 90 days now (26 days CTS). His probation is extended by one year.

• Shanese Renee Mayes, 21, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of breaking and entering a building with intent and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Preliminary examination was scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m. Bond was set $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

• Sheila Ranae Henson, 29, of Baldwin, was found guilty to probation violation. The defendant was sentenced to serve one year (172 days CTS).

• Tyrone Tee Haynes, 53, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of third-degree retail fraud. Pretrial was scheduled for July 21 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.

• Michael Duane Taylor, 37, of Fremont, was arraigned on charges of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense), operating a motor vehicle without security, and of having improper plates. Pretrial was scheduled for July 21 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on bond.

• William Fred Stedman, 40, of Ravenna, was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security and of driving an unregistered vehicle. Pretrial was scheduled for July 21 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

• Timothy John Vanderberg, 33, of Kalamazoo, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating impaired. A charge of OWI was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $1,000 and to serve 93 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

• Andrew James Kehr, 18, of Big Rapids, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating impaired. Charges of OWI and of possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle (passenger) were dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $1,000 and to serve 93 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

• Nicole Marie Sanders, 39, of Ludington, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly person/drunk. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250 and to serve 90 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

• Reico Lahdan Williams, 28, of Big Rapids, was arraigned on a charge of probation violation. A hearing was scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $25,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

• Nick Adam Clemens, 35, of Baldwin, guilty to a charge of probation violation. A hearing was scheduled for July 7 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $25,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

• Christopher Lee Fisher, 35, of Traverse City, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of cocaine less than 25 grams. Sentencing was scheduled for July 18 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on bond.

• Russell Louis Bidwell II, 22 of Scottville, was arraigned on a charge of probation violation. A hearing was scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $25,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

• Shanese Renee Mayes, 21, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of breaking and entering a building with intent and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Preliminary examination was scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

• Travis Anthony Mayes, 22 ,of Ferndale, was arraigned on charges of breaking and entering a building with intent and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Preliminary examination was scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

• Martezz Deangelo Mayes, 28, of Baldwin, was arraigned on charges of breaking and entering a building with intent and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). Preliminary examination was scheduled for June 30 at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.
