TRIAL COURT: 6-23-11

The following actions were taken in Lake County trial court for the week ending Thursday, June 16, 2011:

n Joshua Paul Schlink, 25, of Newaygo, was arraigned on a charge of second-degree home invasion. Preliminary examination was scheduled for June 27 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $25,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

n Nathan Edward Koller, 20, of Rockford, pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a motor vehicle without security. A charge of temporary registration violations was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $350 and to serve one year at the discretion of the court within one year.

n Michael Andre Dukes, 50, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate. The defendant was sentenced to serve one year; 30 days now (17 days CTS) and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.

n James Charles Dodge III, 28, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly person/drunk. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250 and to serve 90 days at the discretion of the court within one year.

n Randal Ray Adkins, 46, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting to assault/resist or obstruct a police officer. Charges of assaulting resisting or obstructing a police officer and of domestic violence was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $350 and to serve one year; one week now (four days CTS) and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.

n Matthew Louis Bruce, 42, 0f Fountain, was arraigned on a charge of driving while license suspended/allowing a suspended person to operate (second or subsequent offense). Pretrial was scheduled for July 21 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on $5,000 bond.

n Amy Elizabeth Fitzgerald, 42, of Irons, pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree retail fraud. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $350, restitution of $30, and to serve one year at the discretion of the court within one year.

n Nicole Rae Garbacik, 23, of Alto, pleaded guilty to a charge of OWI. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $1,050, and to serve one year at the discretion of the court within one year.

n Robert Winchell Train, Jr., 38, of Belding, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving. A charge of OWI was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $250.

n James Curtis Blue, 54, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of having improper plates. A charge altering/forging or falsifying license plates was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $350 and to serve 90 days; five weekends now and the discretion of the court within one year.

n Nathanial Carl Tjapkes, 27, of Baldwin, was found guilty of a charge of parole violation. Sentencing was scheduled for July 11 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $25,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

n Sheila Ranae Henson, 29 of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of parole violation. A hearing was scheduled for June 21 at 1:30. The defendant was also found guilty of contempt of court and sentenced to 15 days. Bond was set at $50,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

n Gregory Lewis Jennings, 22, of Grand Rapids, was arraigned on a charge of parole violation. A hearing was scheduled for June 21 at 1:30. Bond was set at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

n Gayle Marie Adkins, 47, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting to resist and obstruct a police officer. A charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to serve one year; seven days now (three days CTS) and the balance at the discretion of the court within one year.

n Quinten Latimer, 21, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of delivering or manufacturing a controlled substance less than 50 grams. Preliminary examination was scheduled for June 21 at 2:30 p.m. Bond was set at $25,000. The defendant was currently lodged.

n Matthew Ryan Zierke, 24, of Terawa Terrace, NC, pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly person/drunk and malicious destruction of personal property less than $200. Pretrial was scheduled for July 7 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $3,500. The defendant was currently lodged.
