TRIAL COURT 3-29-2012

The following actions were taken in Lake County trial court for the week ending Thursday, Mar. 22, 2012:

  • Roy Lee Clothier, 50, of Luther, had a guilty plea to a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) deferred for a period of six months’ unsupervised probation. The defendant will pay a $350 oversight fee.
  • Dustin John Singleton, 27, of Manton, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly person/drunk. The defendant was sentenced to serve 90 days (12 days now CTS).
  • Harold Alan Snyder, 42, of Idlewild, was arraigned on a charge of breaking and entering a building with intent. Preliminary examination was scheduled for Mar. 26 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $10,000. The defendant was currently lodged.
  • Donald Earl Davenport Jr., 18, of Baldwin, was arraigned on a charge of second-degree home invasion. Preliminary examination was scheduled for Mar. 27 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $5,000. The defendant was currently lodged.
  • Adam Charles Michael Brechting, 30, of Baldwin, pleaded guilty to a charge of OWI (third offense). A charges of operating under the influence of liquor with an occupant less than 16 was dismissed. Sentencing was scheduled for Apr. 17 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Russell Louis Bidwell II, 23, of Scottville, pleaded guilty to a charge of probation violation. A hearing was scheduled for Apr. 3 at 1:30 p.m. Bond was set at $50,000. The defendant was currently lodged.
  • Diane Elaine Hamilton, 47, of Plainville, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana). A charge of delivering or manufacturing a controlled substance (marijuana) was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to pay fines and costs of $350 and to serve six months’ unsupervised probation.
  • Kathaleen Elaine Throop, 46, of Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to charges of truancy, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and of (parent) allowing a child under 12 to operate a four-wheel ATV. Pretrial was scheduled for Apr. 5 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Sheila Ranae Henson, 30, of Baldwin, was bound over to circuit court on charges of stealing/taking or removing a credit card, second-degree home invasion, and two counts of third-degree child abuse. The defendant is free on personal recognizance bond.
  • Karl Lavern Wilkerson, 48, of Baldwin, pleaded no contest to a charge of being an habitual offender (fourth offense). A charge of resisting and obstructing a police officer was dismissed. The defendant was sentenced to serve 30 days.
  • Randall Craig Witherspoon, 59, of Manistee, was arraigned on a charge of operating with a high blood-alcohol content. Pretrial was scheduled for Mar. 22 at 11 a.m. The defendant is free on $7,500 bond.
