Students are thankful
Editor's note: Students in Melissa Johnson's third-grade class at Baldwin Community Schools share what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving season.
"I have a lot to be thankful for. The first thing I am thankful for is my family because they are nice and love me. The next thing is everyone being nice to me because I am nice to everyone," — Isabella Ditts.
"I have all kinds of reasons to be thankful. First, I am thankful for our world that God gave us. It gives me shelter, water, clothes and family. Another reason I am thankful is my friends. They help me and make me giggle. Next is my food. This I need to survive. There are so many things to be thankful for. I hope you have things you are thankful for," — Aria Tate.
"Marquette is a person in our Michigan history. Marquette was born in 1637. He decided to be a priest. He learned the tribe's language. In 1668 and 1671, he started Sault Ste. Marie and St. Ignace. Marquette know a young fur trader named Louis Jolliet. He wanted Marquette to go explore a river that they thought led to China to get spices," — Lamont.
"Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful. I am thankful for my life. Without it I would be just a body. I am also thankful for my family. I love them. Last, I also am thankful for God. He made me. He made you. He made everything you can't make....the sun and the moon and animals. I truly love Him and amen. What are you thankful for?" — Brooklynn B.
"I have my two kittens and one dog, but I am giving one away. I'm going to be sad because he is going to a new family and wish I can have him back. He is my favorite kitten," — Harminee.
"I'm thankful for my mom and dad. They cook for me, wash my clothes for me and make sure I stay healthy and make sure I stay happy. I'm also thankful for God. He gives me shelter and makes sure we stay safe. He gave me great teachers. Right now I have a great teacher," — Lela Nelson.
"I am thankful for my family. Next, I am thankful for the food God gives us and keeps us safe. I am thankful for the best teacher in the world. Last, I am thankful for the roof over my head. Those are the reasons I am thankful," — Dakota Scroggins.
"I am thankful for a lot of things. First, I am thankful for my family and my friends. Next, I'm thankful for my life and God. Last, my teacher, school and school recess. That's my thankful things in my life," — Jacob Brian.
"I have lots of things to be thankful for. The first thing that I'm thankful for is my god-sister. I am thankful for her because she is nice. I hope you are thankful," — Justyne.
"I am thankful for many things. The first thing is my mom, dad and God. And TV," Jamar.
"I am thankful for my mom and dad because they take me to Chucky Cheese, I am thankful for the best teacher ever," Madin.
"I have a lot of things to be thankful for. The first thing I am thankful for is my family. They take good care of me everyday. The second thing is God and Jesus. Them two are the reason I am writing this paper. The third is water and food. I wouldn't be alive without them two things in my body. Finally, for my last thing, I am thankful for the earth. Earth is where I live," — Jacob Garcia.
"I am thankful that my mom gives me money, because I can get gel slime stuff. I am thankful for going to Kalamazoo all the time because I miss living down there. I am thankful that my mom lets me get my fake nails done. I am thankful that I get to see my dad and uncle. I am thankful that Black Friday is coming up so I can go shopping," — Phoenix Allen.
"I'm thankful for my family and granny. Next, I'm thankful that I have a house and a roof over my head. I'm thankful for food on the table. I'm thankful for the best teacher ever. I'm thankful for my friends. I'm thankful for our God. I'm lucky that I have a school. I'm lucky for not having a brother. What are you thankful for?" — Lamont.
"There are lots of things that I am thankful for. I am thankful for my two cats and my two dogs. I love my cat named Tigger," — Brooklynn Galley.
