Star offices closed due to coronavirus
The Star remains committed to thoroughly covering the community while doing everything possible to ensure the well-being of its employees and customers in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Newspaper management is continually monitoring developments regarding the novel coronavirus outbreak, and are following guidance from the Michigan Department of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
There have been no instances of coronavirus infection among our staff. However, out of an abundance of caution we have taken the following actions to safeguard our employees and insure we can continue to publish throughout the course of this pandemic. These actions include having employees work remotely, suspending non-essential travel, and curtailing assignments that involve large crowds in enclosed areas.
We have also chosen to follow Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s directive for public schools and close our offices to the public for three weeks, beginning Monday, March 16, and continuing through Sunday, April 5.
Our staff continues to work from home and remotely during this pandemic, and is available during the workday. An email or phone message is the best manner of communication. See below for contact information.
