Did you know that you can turn in your unused or expired medication for safe disposal on Saturday, April 30 at the Lake County Sheriff’s office at 1153 Michigan Ave., in Baldwin?  If you can’t attend and need to dispose of drugs, please call (231) 745-2712.

We would like to start a community choir in Luther. Everyone is invited and welcome to join. We need both men and women, young and old. We will be having an organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, at the Senior Citizens Building. Please come to the meeting and pass the word.

This will be a lot of fun. If you have any questions, please call Debbie Syrewicze at (231) 797-5567.

My good friend, and mother of my son-in-law Keith, will turn 85 on Sunday, May 5. Shirley has been waging a valiant fight against cancer for several years now, and just recently completed another round of chemo. Shirley is an avid lottery ticket participant, so those of us who are close to her are enclosing a lottery ticket or two in her card.  I hope all of you will take the time to make her day memorable and send her a card, and if you choose not to send a new lottery ticket, send her a loser or two. She also collects those for a second chance. She will be delighted. Her address is; Shirley Reitzel, 19024 Birmingham, Roseville, Mich., 48066.

I do believe Spring has finally arrived. It is very wet outside this morning, and it’s not white! What a blessing. The spring flowers are blooming and it is certainly uplifting, don’t you think? It always amazes me how the daffodils and crocus know when its time to poke their heads out of the ground to say “Happy Spring”.

Good wishes are extended to Barb Kemp, who recently underwent knee surgery. I understand Barb is doing well, and will be up and about in no time.

Thought for the week; If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!

Have a great week.
