BALDWIN — Those who love folk and roots music are in for a treat. Singer/songwriter Chris Vallillo will be returning to the Lake County Historical Museum performing “Oh Freedom! Songs of the Civil Rights Movement.”

The concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 27, at the Lake County Historical Museum, 915 N. Michigan Avenue, Baldwin.

“This concert is a one-man performance of his show he created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the civil rights movement,” said Jill Engelman, Lake County Historical Museum curator. “Chris will perform pivotal songs from the music that inspired the landmark movement. Complete with firsthand accounts of this historic struggle and discussion of how the music impacted our nation, this performance is one not to be missed.”

Audience participation welcomed.

“Come tell how this movement affected you and your families,” Engelman added.

The LCHS will offer a Sharing Table of lemonade and goodies. This is a free concert, although donations are welcomed.
