Triad comes together to address the safety needs and concerns of our older citizens. Triad's working committee, known as S.A.L.T. (Seniors And Law enforcement Together), has planned Senior Enrichment Day to give citizens important information about staying safe in our homes and also to bring people together for a day of fun and learning.
Morning introductions and refreshments will be followed by speakers from area agencies such as the Lake County Sheriffs' Department (talking about telephone an sales scams), File for Life, Safety Lights, the Health Department on Prescription Safety and Disposal and Senior Health Information, Legal Advice on Estate Planning, an Occupational Therapist on body mechanics and exercise, the Building Department on Home Safety and Contractors, the Fire Department on home fire safety and much more.
Lunch is free of charge. After lunch, attendees can join fun, hands-on classes in glass art, edible arrangements, making a lawn ornament or they can just relax while viewing several booths set up with items of interest to seniors.
Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day with a grand prize at the end of the day. A "goodie bag" with gifts and a folder to collect information will be provided also.
