Search process begins for new 911 director
LAKE COUNTY — With the recent resignation of Lake County Central Dispatch Director Jim Anderlohr, a search has begun to fill the position.
Currently, an interim is filling in until a new director can be hired, a process overseen by Lake County Administrator Tobi Lake.
Lake is involving officials from other department heads and personnel in the process as well.
“Our county administrator is overseeing the process and has the Lake County Board of Commissioners Chair Howard Lodholtz involved, as well as vice-chair Chris Balulis, and chair of personnel, myself,” said Commissioner Karl Walls. “He also is seeking input from the sheriff and current 911 employees. The county administrator can undergo the whole hiring process himself and it is a done deal, but he chose to approach it with a committee group and seek input. Employees get to help hire their own boss and we will take it for what it’s worth.”
Qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public or business administration or equivalent experience, training experience with 911 and other certification requirements.
