Residents invited to recycle tires, electronics
LAKE COUNTY — Lake County residents are invited to take part in a free tire and electronic collection hosted by the Osceola-Lake Conservation District.
The collection is from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 21, at Recycle of Osceola County, located at 531 E. Lincoln Street, Reed City.
Participants are limited to 10 passenger tires on or off the rim for no charge. Semi tires are $15 each and tractor tires are $20 each. Tires are not allowed to be more than 4 feet tall and they must be free of debris.
For electronic items, free disposal includes appliances with a cord such as TVs, microwaves, phones, stereos, game systems, computers, printers, etc.
Items which are not allowed to be disposed are units containing Freon and large appliances such as refrigerators or washers.
Pinora Township Supervisor Victoria Dennett encourages her constituents and other area residents to take advantage of the services offered.
“This collection is available to anyone in the county. Anyone can get rid of 10 tires, and this will help clean things up,” she said.
