RSVP holds 41st annual volunteer recognition

BIG RAPIDS – More than 100 Retired and Senior Volunteer Program volunteers from Mecosta, Osceola and Lake counties were honored on Thursday at the Eagles Lodge No. 2535 in Big Rapids.

“This year the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is celebrating 41 years,” said Sandy Dalrymple, RSVP director. “There has been a constant change over the past few years, and each year we mold to fit the times. We continue to move forward and we continue to grow.”

Volunteers Cynthia Ankelen, James Boyd, Kim Ison and Betty Stetler were recognized at the luncheon for volunteering 1,000 hours or more through RSVP. Volunteers of the Year Bruce Fredrick, Betty Kenward, Gerald Kenward, Betty Stetler and Judy Watz also received certificates at the event. Following lunch, Ken Stephens, Ernie Hileman, Charlie Simar, Rob Kotecki and Pete Jordan entertained volunteers, performing favorite old time tunes.
