PHYLLIS KORTE: Luther Days needs people

Luther Days will be here before you know it, and there are lots of things to be done before Luther Days gets here.

  • Participants for the car show.
  • Donations for the silent auction.
  • Runners for the 5K.
  • Hall Volunteers.
  • Miss Luther applicants. Deadline for Miss Luther; Friday, June 13th.
  • Volunteers for kids games.

If you are willing to help with any of the above activities, please call Patti Moore Pacola at (231) 388-5597. The folks working so hard to make Luther Days a success need all the help they can get. Please step up and give them a hand.

Get well wishes to Harold and Rosemary Shemberger who were in a horrific accident while driving back to Michigan from Texas a week or so ago. They both were injured, and are in a great deal of pain. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to them.

Get well wishes are extended to Bill Atkinson who has had several surgeries, and is hopefully on his way to a good recovery. Prayers to him too.

Happy Birthday to Mary Jo Nixon. Thirty-nine one more time, Mary Jo?

Three men walking down a beach came across a lamp buried in the sand. They picked it up and began wiping it off. A genie popped out and told them, “I’ll grant you each one wish.”

The first man thought to himself, “I have a wonderful wife, a nice car and enough money.”

He rubbed the lamp and whispered, “I wish I were ten times smarter.”

“You are ten times smarter,” announced the genie.

The second guy took the lamp and thought to himself, “I have a wealthy wife and three expensive cars.”

So he rubbed the lamp and murmured, “I wish I were a hundred times smarter.”

“You are now a hundred times smarter,” the genie mandated.

The third man thought to himself, “I am married to an heiress and own a fleet of antique cars.”

Then he rubbed the lamp and said, “I wish I were a thousand times smarter.”

The genie pointed at him and declared, “You are now a woman.”

Thought for the week;  Life is short. Eat ice cream.

Have a great week.
