PASTOR’S PEN: We’ve got troubles, now what?
Unless you live in a cave somewhere, you know it’s true. We all face troubles from time to time.
The hard part is to get help. Whether your troubles are self-induced or come from some outside circumstances and influences, there is help to be had.
Our world is in chaos and confusion. The political atmosphere is full of lies and mis-characterizations. Our values are eroding as we speak.
Marriages are being destroyed by satanic attack. Men and women, seemingly, no longer understand commitment.
What can we rely on in these days?
Well meaning government agencies pick apart our homes by interference. Even the so called spiritual leaders today have lost their way.
We know when anti-biblical, unchristian and ungodly proposals are taught as truth, we are in trouble. We must look to Almighty God for help.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)
He won’t let us down. He is faithful.
The Bible says, “But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: He is their strength in the time of trouble.” (Psa 37:39)
Are you righteous?
We need the righteousness of Christ. Jesus shed his blood on the cross to pay our sin debt. He died taking our place.
On the third day He rose from the grave. He is alive today offering to all the gift of eternal life who believe.
Will you receive Him as your Saviour?
Don’t forget this. Our righteousness is as filthy rags.
How many today are blinded by the traps of the devil? He offers the world, the flesh and devil for salvation.
Satan is a liar.
Beware of his tools. False religion and cults offer salvation by works. The Bible says, “The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous.” (Psa 146:8)
There is hope in Jesus. We must receive his help. Speaking of us, “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.” (Psa.37:24)
Sin always brings trouble. Remember, there is hope in Christ. Jesus will lift you up when you confess your sin.
Paul tells us,”All have sinned.” (Rom.3:23)
Besides troubles on earth, we have eternal troubles. Jesus is the answer. The Psalmist says, “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.” (Psa.32:7)
Put your faith in Christ. He will save you by His grace. Circumstances may be oppressing you, but God is able to help.
“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” (Psa.73:26)
Isn’t it about time you start believing God for your future?
Why don’t you listen to him in time of trouble?
Even Job declares, “He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.” (Job 5:19)
Job knew trouble. It is important to remember Job’s trouble was not permanent. When we call on God he will hear us.
The Psalmist says, “For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.” (Psa.22:24)
Listen to God, He will help in time of trouble. How will you stand before God in your sin. That is real trouble.
Jesus said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Trust Christ today. He can save you.
