IRONS — The burden of patients battling breast cancer in Lake County is eased a bit, thanks to the outreach of Christina Hinken, who was once a breast cancer patient. With the backing of the community, Hinken is hosting the third annual Night Owl Party.

Net proceeds from the night of fun, dancing and music help breast cancer patients with transportation costs, as well as provide funding for prevention at the Susan P. Wheatlake Regional Cancer Center in Reed City.

This year’s event begins at 6 p.m. and will last until midnight, on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Skinner Park Hall in Irons, 5074 W. 10 1/2 Mile Road.

The evening includes live entertainment from classic rock cover band, Onager, at 8 p.m. A Chinese raffle and silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., and 50/50 raffles will be called. Coolers are allowed.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For tickets, donations or silent auction items, call Christina at (616) 802-8229.
