BALDWIN — During the Lake County Township Association meeting, Paul Bigford, who served as president of the LCTA for the past 34 years, stepped down at last Thursday’s quarterly meeting at the Lake County Historical Museum.

Peacock Township Supervisor Mark Venema was nominated to replace Bigford. Other board members renominated were Ernie Wogatzke as secretary and Marsha Bouwkamp as treasurer.

Also during the meeting, Lake County Administrator Tobi Lake gave a detailed presentation on ambulance services in the county, comparing it with surrounding counties. He noted time on ambulance runs have improved and LIFE EMS has stopped making out-of-county runs.

The next Lake County Township Association meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Chase Township Hall.
