National Day of Prayer to be observed on courthouse lawn
LAKE COUNTY — Area residents are invited to participate in a local observance for National Day of Prayer. The ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, on the lawn of the Lake County Courthouse and will be led by local pastors.
"I hope people will come and join us in praying for our nation, our police, fire departments and government. This year's theme is unity," said Tim Alley, pastor of Baldwin Assembly of God. "2nd Chronicles 7:14 says, 'If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
"We believe it is time for the church to rise up and begin praying for healing in our land — in our county, state and nation — for God to pour out healing and unity."
