IDLEWILD — As summer starts winding down, the fun times of the season are far from over.

The public is invited to join a celebration of the season in Idlewild at the First Annual Summer Festival, presented by the Mid-Michigan Idlewilders Event Center.

The fun runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 19 Joy and Forman Road, Idlewild. The festival has something for all ages, including field games for both kids and adults, and a raffle drawing.

Shoppers can enjoy arts and crafts vendors, as well as Mid-Michigan Idlewilders food. For vendor applications, which are a $25 fee, contact 231-330-0919.

Children will get to anticipate many activities such as a kids zone, along with games, prizes and face painting.

The entertainment will include a live performance by Lady Sax as well as guest, DJ Gene. Festival-goers also will have opportunities for line dancing.

The event is free to the public. People are invited to bring their own lawn chairs and enjoy a day of summer fun.
