BALDWIN — May 1 is a big day across Michigan and nation in the college admissions process. It’s the day which seniors nationwide declare what they want to do with their futures and decide where they will go after high school.

Baldwin High School is hosting its fourth College Decision Day Celebration honoring the Senior Class of 2018 — making this major decision to achieve greatness by either attending college, trade school or enlisting in the armed services.

“This celebration will continue to create a college-going culture within Baldwin High School, as well as within the Lake County community,” said Stiles X. Simmons, Superintendent of Baldwin Community Schools. “We are extremely proud of our senior class for taking this next big step for their future.

“A lot of media attention goes to promising athletes when they select the college of their choice. We want every student to receive as much attention and have that same feeling of importance so that they too can feel special about this big day.”

The goal of College Decision Day is to celebrate high school seniors for their post secondary educational plans and encourage younger students and families to prepare early for post secondary education. Keynote speaker will be Dr. David Eisler, the President of Ferris State University.

The Baldwin High School’s Decision Day Assembly 2018 will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, in the Max Brail Gymnasium. Students, parents, school administrators, teachers, staff and community members are invited to join in the celebration.
