PLEASANT PLAINS TWP. — After the Aug. 28 storm knocked down the Pleasant Plains Township Fire Department, which was in the middle of  being constructed, crews wasted no time rebuilding.

The building has now been repaired to what it was before the storm, and then some. During the Pleasant Plains Township meeting on Monday, Fire Chief Greg Shoemaker gave an update.

“We are working very hard on the building,” he said. “We hope to put insulation in by the end of this week and hopefully drywall by next week.”

Curbs will be poured, outside doors put in and the ground will be spread for a parking lot.

“The outside of the building should be completely buttoned up very soon, and we can work on inside walls shortly. We nailed electrical boxes and will get wiring put in,” he said.
