Luther Library to offer summer events

LUTHER – The Luther Area Public Library announces several upcoming summer events as part of its summer reading program.

Ron Rademacher, author and speaker, will be at the library at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, as a part of the Adult Summer Reading Program. Rademacher will speak about Michigan destinations and good places to visit.

A slide show also will be presented along with his talk, and his books will be available at the library for purchase.

This year’s summer reading program theme is Fizz Boom Read! , a science-oriented program beginning July 17 and prepared for children ages 5 through 17. A presentation put on by the John Ball Zoo will start the reading program off.

Dynamic Assemblies will return to the library on July 30 with an Inflatable Planetarium.The library staff invites the public to attend and learn first-hand about stars and constellations. This program is open to all ages and will be held at the Luther Lions Club at 1003 N. State St.

Parents can pre-register their children for the reading program and earn extra reading bucks. This year’s summer reading program was made possible with a grant from the Lake County Community Foundation.

Craft Club will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, and at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 18.
