Looking forward to the spring thaw and spring flowers

Spring is just around the corner, hooray! Now if this white stuff would just go away for good. We really had a mild winter this season. It just seems like after February everyone gets cabin fever. I know I sure do. Talking to some friends down state, they already have spring flowers coming up. Here we would have to dig several inches of snow to find anything.

  • March 1 – Ace Home Health Care Services will be at the center doing a foot clinic starting at 12:30. The cost is $15 per person. This will continue the first Thursday of every month.
  • March 6 – Community Health Care Services will be here to check blood pressure for the seniors.
  • March 7-8 – A group is going to the Soo. We wish them lots of luck.
  • March 13 – We are hosting a presentation on prescription drug abuse. It begins at 12:30 p.m. This is open to the public.
  • March 16 – We are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. The kitchen staff will be preparing something special and we will have a few raffles. So dress up in your best green outfit and join us for a lot of fun.

The Knights of Columbus have started their annual Friday fish dinners. The cost is $7 and they serve from 4:30-7 p.m. The menu is baked fish or fried fish, baked potato, fries, or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, dessert, and drink. They will continue this until Good Friday.

We have new Wii bowling champions. Congratulations go to Cheryl Williams and Karen Hamilton. We are hoping to have some new games available soon.

We have a new menu available daily. You have the choice of the hot meal, or a chef salad with fruit of the day, or a sandwich of the day with vegetable and fruit, or a wrap with vegetable of the day and fruit. If you would like to try out the new menu the kitchen needs to know what your order is by 10 a.m. so they can have it ready be 11 a.m.

Office hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m., lunch is from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Bingo is played every day 10:30-11 a.m.
