Looking forward to spring

They say “March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.” Everybody I have talked to sure hopes so. They can’t wait for spring to get here. They said the ground hog didn’t see his shadow, how did he even get out of his hole with all the show we have.

Our new bathrooms are open for everyone to use. They look wonderful! Everybody who helped on this project should pat themselves on the back for a job well done! Just a few finishing touches and they are complete.

March 8 – Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras.

The center will be decorated for this event. The kitchen staff is preparing a Cajun style lunch. One lucky senior will be crowned Mardi Gras king or queen. So wear your favorite costume and mask and join us for a lot of fun.

On March 13th daylight savings time begins, so make sure you turn your clocks ahead one hour.

March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day

This day brings out the Irish in all of us even if we’re nor Irish. The kitchen will serve a festive lunch along with something green for dessert. A big cuddle bear holding a goodie bag will raffled of at noon along with other goodies.

March 29 – We are hosting a seminar on Alzheimer’s. It will start at 2 until 3:30 p.m. If anyone is interested in attending call Mary Jane at (231) 780-1922 to register.

Our Wii bowling league is back up and running. We have eight teams competing for the top spot. This is a lot of fun and not hard to do. Whether you have some limitations or in a wheel chair, you can still enjoy this type of game. Stop in and check it out.

The exercise equipment is being used everyday. The seniors get points every time they use the equipment. It’s good for them to get the exercise and they get to shop in the store too. Call the office for more information.
