Lisa Davis educating students nearly 25 years

BALDWIN — As a teacher, Lisa Davis has marked her influence in the lives of many Baldwin area youth for more than two decades.
Currently, Davis is teaching sixth-grade English Language Arts and social studies. When she began teaching at Baldwin in the fall of 1994, she taught science to elementary students.
“This is my first year in the middle school. I already built relationships from the elementary, which made the transition easier. Me and the sixth-graders made the transition together,” she said.
Davis said building relationships with her students is key to helping them with education.
“I try to make my students feel comfortable. We all live here. I let them know I care about each and every one of them — to help them be successful,” she said.
Davis earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan and earned her master’s degree in educational leadership at Eastern Michigan University.
Prior to teaching at Baldwin, she taught in Flint four years, where she grew up.
In addition to being known as an educator in the community, Davis also is owner of Ivan’s Campground in Baldwin.
In her spare time she enjoys spending as much time as she can with her grandkids and grown children.
