BALDWIN — The following cases were heard recently in the Lake County Trial Court. All cases may not be reported.

• Louis Stephen Gorsuch, 22, of Fenwick, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without security. Gorsuch was sentenced to 365 days in jail, to be held in abeyance. He must pay fines and court fees.

• Jennifer Lynn Coons, 41, of Reed City, pleaded guilty to uttering and publishing. She was sentenced to 365 days in jail and given credit for serving 46 days, with 194 days to be held in abeyance. Coons must complete 24 months probation and pay fines and court fees.

• Glenn Lee Allen, 48, of Bitely, pleaded no contest to attempted possession of controlled substance (cocaine). Per a plea agreement, counts of delivering and manufacturing a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy) and habitual offender, fourth offense, were dismissed. He was sentenced to 270 days in jail and given credit for serving two days, with 208 days held in abeyance. Allen must complete 24 months probation and pay fines and court fees.

• Anthony Roy Soward, 35, of Bitely, pleaded guilty to a count of being a disorderly person. Per a plea agreement, a count of assault/assault and battery was dismissed. Soward was sentenced to 90 days in jail, to be held in abeyance. In a separate case, he pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without security and allowing a person with a suspended license to drive (second or subsequent offense). Soward was sentenced to 730 days in jail, to be held in abeyance. Additional counts of allowing a person with a suspended license to drive (second or subsequent offense) and operating a vehicle without security were dismissed. He must pay fines and court fees.
