Ladies of the Museum and Lions Club Tea Party set for Oct. 7

LUTHER — Area residents are invited to join the Luther community for the Ladies of the Museum and Lions Club Tea Party.

The event will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Luther Lions Club hall. Cost is $10 per person, with proceeds benefiting the general funds for the Luther Area Museum and the Luther Lions Club.

Marilyn Gray, Luther Area Museum director, said volunteers have been busy with preparations for the annual tea party.

“This event is open to everyone. There are no reservations,” Gray said. “We will find a spot for everyone who comes. Included is a luncheon with tea foods such as sandwiches, crackers with spreads and desserts. Each table will have a different theme and craft for guests to make.”

The event program this year, “Making a Difference,” will feature guest presenter Lynn Rodenroth, of Traverse City, who is director of Paper Works Studios, a company which employs people with disabilities.

“We always have a great time at the tea,” Gray said. “I hope people will have an enjoyable afternoon sipping tea, catching up with old friends and making new friends.”
