LUTHER NEWS: Luther Day fireworks covered for another year by fundraiser

The Fireworks Fundraiser which was held on Saturday, April 14, was a great success. And a good time was had by all. We were not there, but I am told that the auction was great! Somebody paid over $100 for a dozen eggs, and as always Jack Purchase’s pie went for well over $100! Luther Days fireworks are covered for another year!

The Luther Community Choir is still looking for folks to sing. There is still time to join. You do not have to be able to read music to sing in the choir. The choir meets on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Luther Senior Center, and is directed by Debbie Syrewicze. If you have questions, feel free to call Debbie at (231) 797-5567.

The children of the Wesleyan Church, under the direction of Dick Dietrick, spent last Saturday cleaning the grounds at the Luther Senior Center. There were approximately ten kids participating, and they ranged from elementary school age to high school age. The folks at the Luther Senior Center really appreciate their help and want everyone to know what great kids they are.

Thought for the week: Fault finding is like window washing. All the dirt seems to be on the other side.

Have a great week.
