Irons church supports Alabama relief project

IRONS — The Bulletin Board News and Irons Union Church are working together to collect donations to send to the unfortunate victims of the tornadoes in Alabama. The need is for the following items: dishes, drinkware, coffee pots, pots and pans, can openers, cooking utensils, dish cloths and other kitchen items, small furniture and lamps, bed and bath linens, toys & games, baby items, personal hygiene items (tooth brushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, new combs & brushes), small hand tools, non-perishable foods, clothing (including all sizes of new underwear).

Donations can be dropped off at the Irons Union Church Mission Store at 5713 W. Jeffers Rd. off 10 1/2 Mile Rd. in Irons. (Please do not donate outdated items of food). For those who wish to donate money, checks can be made out to Irons Union Church (with a reference to Alabama Relief on the memo line), and mailed to P O Box 2, Irons, MI 49644. Store hours are from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The deadline for donations is Monday.

Volunteers are needed to sort, box and load. If you can help call (231) 848-7222 or stop by the store on Thursday, Friday or Saturday during store hours.

Thanks are extended to TJ’s Trucking who is supplying the truck for the delivery and to Falmouth Co-op who is helping with fuel costs.
