Idlewilders host Flea Market

IDLEWILD - If you are looking for special buys at reasonable prices, chances are they will be found Friday and Saturday. That’s when the Mid-Michigan Idlewilders will host their Annual Flea Market Weekend offering everything from gently used clothes, furniture, electronics, DVD’s and CD’s, appliances, books, toys and much more.

Mid-Michigan Idlewilder Flea Market organizer, Esther Ward says the nonprofit organization uses the event proceeds to help with expenses for their annual Fourth of July “Mardi Gras Style Parade”, which draws hundreds of people from all across the United States.

This year will be the groups’ 13th parade.

“Our flea market has become so popular; buyers often arrive prior to opening time and frequently make return visits,” said Ward. “I was so moved last year when a local high school senior found a nice outfit for her graduation and on the way to the event, she stopped back by and her mother made a clothing purchase.

“She actually changed into the outfit in her car. The buys at our flea market are unique and the prices reasonable. You never know what you will find.”

The Flea Market will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Idlewild Historical entry-way located at US-10 and Broadway in Idlewild.
