Hospice hosts fundraising dance

PENTWATER — Hospice of Michigan announces the 2011 Mask Project Ball, “A Magical Night” sponsored by Gold Sponsor Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1354 of Ludington and hosted by the Pentwater Yacht Club. The semi-formal ball will be held Saturday, April 30 from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Pentwater Yacht Club in Pentwater.

Music, dinner, dancing, beer/wine and silent auction will be included in the ticket price of $30 per person. The ball will feature a silent auction of items donated by area businesses and individuals. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Mask Project committee member Lexi at (231) 480-4679 or by e-mailing hospicemaskproject@hotmail.com. Tickets are limited and for the past two years have sold out prior to the event, so early purchase is recommended. New this year is a bidding auction of an Amish handcrafted quilt donated by Paula Estle of Ludington valued at over $800. The quilt can be viewed at the Ludington Public Library for the month of March and bids are accepted at the Library or by contacting Lexi. Reserve bid must be met, bids will be accepted until noon on Friday, April 29.

The event will benefit Hospice of Michigan’s Open Access Program in Mason, Manistee, Lake, Oceana and Benzie counties and benefits the local area. This program ensures that anyone who needs end-of-life care receives it regardless of age, diagnosis or ability to pay. Hospice of Michigan’s mission is to ensure quality of life and a comfortable, peaceful death for all patients receiving their care. It also seeks to provide support for patient’s loved ones.
