LAKE COUNTY — Families will have opportunities throughout the coming weeks to attend community holiday celebrations.

The fun begins this weekend with Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. to noon, or when food runs out, on Saturday, Dec. 8, at St. Ann’s Senior Center, 690 9th St., Baldwin. In addition to enjoying a full breakfast with Santa, each kid will receive a gift of fruit and choice of stuffed animal. The annual event is sponsored by Baldwin Area Arts and Action Council.

Residents also are invited to join the holiday fun at the Luther Area Public Library at their annual craft sale and open house from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the library, 115 State Street, Luther. Santa will be available for pictures with kids from 1 to 4 p.m., and there will be kids crafts and a coloring contest. Snacks will be provided. Gift baskets will be presented for a silent auction.

The weekend concludes with a Christmas Cantata performed by the Baldwin area community choir at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Baldwin Congregational Church, 870 Beech St, Baldwin.

The various branches of Lake-Osceola State Bank are having their Christmas parties on Friday, Dec. 7. Visitors can stop in at their convenience for coffee, cookies and calendars.

The Lake County Historical Society will have its annual holiday party at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Community Room at the Lake County Historical Museum, 915 N. Michigan. Guests are encouraged to bring a wrapped gift for a white elephant gift exchange and favorite holiday treat for the sharing table. Everyone is invited to join the festive evening.

The following weekend, Santa will again make an appearance at the Christmas at Pathfinder Community Library event, from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, at 812 Michigan Ave. Kids will have an opportunity to get their picture with Santa. There will be crafts, a movie and refreshments. Volunteers are welcome. Stuffed animals and wrapping paper are needed.

There also will be a Christmas party at AMVETS Post. No. 1988, from noon to 2 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 15, 1959 E 24th St., Baldwin. Kids will get to see Santa, receive gifts, sing carols and enjoy hot dogs, cot cocoa and cupcakes.

The Kids Christmas Party, sponsored by Chase Main Street Foundation, will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Chase Township Public Library, 8400 E North St., Chase. There will be crafts, treats and visits with Santa.

Irons Area Tourist Association also will have a Kids Christmas Party with Santa arriving at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Skinner Park, 5074 W 10 1/2 Mile Rd., Irons.
