BALDWIN — The Lake County Historical Society will host its Family Portrait Series during the monthly program.

Descendants of the James M. Avery family will share memories, photos and the local history of the pioneer family who is said to be the first white settlers in Cherry Valley Township. Avery, a Civil War veteran, came with his family by oxen to his build his new homestead in 1871. Most of his descendants stayed in the county.

The program begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Lake County Historical Museum, 915 N. Michigan Ave., Baldwin.

There will be a sharing table with refreshments.
