Historic Idlewild Church to install new leadership
IDLEWILD — The congregation of the Historic First Baptist Church of Idlewild invites the entire community to join them at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, when the Rev. Andria Olivia Mitchell is formally installed as their new pastor.
The congregation has overwhelmingly voted to have the Rev. Mitchell serve as their ministerial leader.
Mitchell was licensed as a minister on March 25, 2009, and earned her B.S. degree in Biblical Studies with ministry emphasis from Rochester College in Rochester Hills in Dec. 2012.
She was ordained to the work of the gospel ministry in Jan. 2016 by an interdenominational ordaining council. She has served as an associate minister and assistant to the pastor of the Greate Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Detroit.
The Rev. Mitchell endeavors to accomplish God’s plan for her life, and to keep every aspect of life in proper order placing God and righteousness at the forefront. Armed with many spiritual, creative and administrative gifts to fulfill God’s call on her life, she continues in her personal mission to be a powerful influence in the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
Her ministry will encourage God’s people to pursue righteousness while empowering them in God’s call on their lives.
Following the installation program, a dinner will be served in the fellowship hall of the church, which is located at 7552 Forman Road, just south of U.S. 10 in Idlewild.
