LUTHER — Residents of Grand Oaks Nursing Center enjoyed a time of nostalgia during their visit to the Luther Area Museum last Friday.

The museum, filled with many relics from the past and local area archives, hosts the residents each year before closing for the season.

“This is the fourth year residents visited the museum,” said Grand Oaks Nursing Center Activity Director Christine Engels. “I am from Luther. I went to the elementary school, and I still live here. This town has a rich history.”

Grand Oaks resident Betty Grzybowski was flooded with memories. She grew up in Luther as the oldest of 10 in the Fullerton family. She pointed out a quilt with a patch showing the Fullerton home.

“That top window in the house pictured in the quilt was my upstairs bedroom,” she said, adding her family members designed the patch as part of a fundraiser when the museum first opened. The quilt represents various families in the Luther area.
