Grand Oaks residents get visit from bikers

Bonnie Sawyer Grand Oaks Nursing Center

Residents and staff at Grand Oaks Nursing Center kicked off the summer season with Nursing Home Week. The theme this year was “the aloha way.” Residents enjoyed a taste of Hawaii with a different Hawaiian dish each day at lunch. Festivities and games were enjoyed by both residents and staff throughout the week.

Blessing of the bikes, residents enjoyed the annual visit by the Para-Dice Motorcycle Club. The activities department baked cookies to share with the bikers.

Special thank you to the visiting bikers for saying a prayer for our Activities Director Susan Bentz who has been ill. So many of our residents look forward every year to seeing and talking with all the bikers.

Residents enjoyed the free fishing weekend, the ladies didn’t have much success but the guys did catch a few. Everyone is looking forward to the next fishing trip.

Grand Oaks would like to thank VFW post 5315 for honoring our veterans on Memorial Day.

Thank you to the Lake County Honor Guard for coming to the facility for the flag raising ceremony.

Residents also enjoyed the visit from the Garden Club and planting this years flowers.
