GRAND OAKS NEWS: Be thankful
By Christine Engels
Grand Oaks Acting Activity Director
May is approaching and I realize I am getting older. My birthday is approaching. I love to reminisce about my childhood and remembering the good times I had with my family. I was blessed to be raised in a Christian family that was very supportive.
Thank-you to my wonderful parents who helped me along the way when I struggled on what I was going to do with my career. They have always been there for me when I needed them.
In December my Grandpa passed away and that was a tough time for my family. When a loved one passes it is the toughest thing to go through. I see other families go through losing a loved one but then when you go through it yourself it is different. I didn’t understand why that happened, but then God blessed me with my new job as an “Acting Activity Director.”
Thank you to the people and to God for leading me here in my life. We have to stop and thank God for the things in our lives both good and bad. Things happen in our life for a reason. We might not know it at the time, but then God shows us a reason why it happened.
Take a minute and think about what you are thankful for, and what God has blessed you with. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Easter.
