Frights, fun at S&K haunted trail

More Halloween events planned this weekend

IDLEWILD — Screams and laughter could be heard amid the dark starlit evening sky, as many families and kids lined up to walk through the S&K Haunted Trail on Saturday.

Shawn Coffey, with the Lake County Road Commission, and trustee of Yates Township Board, is thrilled to host the free Halloween event annually, and to resume after being cancelled during the pandemic in 2020.

Many donations from community members and others help make the S&K Trail the great success it is.

Hot dogs and hot chocolate were provided for visitors of all ages, and candy was given to kids in the decked-out haunted pole barn. Frightening decorations, some which loom way overhead, eerily lit up, were displayed along and near the trail, adding to the thrills.

The haunted trail experience spoke for itself with kids coming out screaming and shrieking, but looking like they had the time of their lives.
