Free community COVID-19 testing available
LUDINGTON -- District Health Department No. 10 is offering a free community COVID-19 testing clinic in the Ludington High School parking lot, 706 E. Tinkham Ave., Ludington, during the following dates and times:
• Wednesday, July 15 from 2 to 7 p.m.
• Thursday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This free testing is a collaboration between the National Guard, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, local law enforcement, local emergency management and the Ludington Area School District.
Anyone age 18 or older is welcome to be tested. Testing is open to everyone, including all surrounding counties, and is not limited to symptomatic individuals.
No appointments will be accepted. It will be first come, first served.
Testing is a nasopharyngeal swab (long-tipped cotton swap in the nose) to determine current COVID-19 status.
Antibody testing will not be offered at this time.
Test results will take 7 to 9 days. You will receive instructions for logging into BioReference Laboratories patient portal to obtain results. DHD#10 will notify only those whose results are positive for COVID-19.
DHD#10 will also offer free Hepatitis A vaccines to community members during the COVID-19 testing clinic.
