Former Baldwin resident admitted to State Bar of Michigan
BALDWIN — For former Baldwin resident Floyd Brown, the decision to go into law was based on his desire to support his hometown and help those in need.
A 1984 graduate of Baldwin High School, Brown said he was inspired to go to law school by his longtime mentor, Judge Mark Wickens, with the Lake County Trial Court.
After serving 23 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving tours around the world, and working as an attorney advisor in Atlanta, Georgia, Brown will soon return to Baldwin to continue to practice law.
"I want to be an advocate for people who can't normally afford an attorney," he said. "My goal is to educate people on their rights."
Brown was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in a ceremony in September, and said he will be moving back in the near future.
"I just want to say I am so very proud of Floyd," Wickens said.
