WEBBER TWP. — Thanks to one of Lake County's businesses, the county's outdoor resources will be featured nationally on the Fox Sports Network this weekend.

Last year, Peacock LTD. reached out to the Fox Sports Network TV show, "Destination Polaris," a show about ORV destinations in North America, and convinced them to come to Michigan and highlight some great riding areas. The filming was done during the first week of October. The business provided the filming team with five new Polaris ORV's and spent the next four days filming the show. The group spent one day at Silver Lake and two days on the Lake County trail system.

"We spent some time around the various parts of the county, we interviewed some riders, showed off the some of the rivers with the help of one of the local canoe companies, and of course explored the trails," said Peacock LTD. owner Jim Faiella. "The host, Jared Christie, also took part in some fat-tire biking and we sent some drones up to get some aerial shots."

Faiella said he will be grateful if this means a boost in business for his dealership, but hopes even more this brings some much-needed attention to the whole county as an ORV destination.

"It's not so much about Peacock LTD. as it is about Lake County," he said. "Being a Polaris dealer, and Polaris sponsors the program, we were a big part of getting them here, but we hope this will showcase all of Lake County and show people how this place has so much to offer."

The episode featuring Peacock LTD. will debut at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb 28, on the Fox Sports Network. For many in the county, attracting this kind of national attention is vindication for their efforts to use the trails of Lake County to attract more tourism to the community. It will be re-aired on various Fox Sports affiliates.

“We are very proud of what Lake County Trails offers to the public,” said County Commissioner Dan Sloan, who has led the county’s ORV promotional program for the past year. “We were issued permits by the Department of Natural Resources and Irons Area Tourism Authority and worked for many hours grooming the trails to make them worthy of nation-wise attention. I hope everyone enjoys the show.”
