Exercise to keep yourself standing straight

All organizations depend on volunteers and there are never enough of them. We’re thankful for all of you, reaching out and making time for the things that need to be done. Thanks so much.

Straighten Up

Seniors, did you know gravity is constantly pulling us down? Unless we watch, it’s so easy to slump. Exercises will strengthen the back muscles and stretch the chest muscles. One good exercise is to make large circles with your arms, circling backwards only. Do not allow your head to protrude forward. Lift your chin slightly. You must remind yourself often during the day to “straighten up.” Keep those shoulders back. Round shoulders and slumping crowds our hearts and lungs, especially when we’re tired.
