Conservation District seeks board candidate

OSCEOLA/LAKE - One position on the Osceola-Lake Conservation District Board of Directors will be open for election this fall. Those interested in running for the position must file a petition at least 60 days prior to the district’s annual meeting which will be held in October 2011.

This petition must be signed by at least five residents of the district. Candidates must be of legal age, a resident of the district and can demonstrate this by one piece of identification.

The position on the board is a four-year term. Candidates interested in running for the position may call the Osceola-Lake Conservation District at (231) 832-2950, for more information, or stop at the district office located at 138 W. Upton Ave., Suite 2, in Reed City to pick up a petition. Business hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Osceola-Lake Conservation District will be accepting petitions to run for district director until the close of business on July 30, 2011.
