LAKE COUNTY — While several holiday celebrations have already occurred throughout the county, there are still more events scheduled for families to enjoy.

This weekend, Santa will visit Pathfinder Community Library. The fun will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, at 812 Michigan Ave. Kids will have an opportunity to get their picture with Santa and make holiday crafts. There will be a showing of a movie and refreshments will be served. Volunteers are welcome. Stuffed animals and wrapping paper are needed.

AMVETS Post. No. 1988 will have their kids Christmas party from noon to 2 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 15, 1959 E 24th St., Baldwin. Kids will get to see Santa, receive gifts, sing carols and enjoy hot dogs, cot cocoa and cupcakes.

The Kids Christmas Party, sponsored by Chase Main Street Foundation, will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Chase Township Public Library, 8400 E North St., Chase. There will be crafts, treats and visits with Santa.

Irons Area Tourist Association also will have a Kids Christmas Party with Santa arriving at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, at Skinner Park, 5074 W 10 1/2 Mile Rd., Irons.

The fun will continue the following week, with an evening holiday celebration on the shortest day of the year, Dec. 21. Area residents are invited to gather from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hollister Park in Baldwin for hot cocoa, carols and a bonfire tended by the Baldwin, Pleasant Plains and Webber fire departments. The hot cocoa will be provided by Baldwin Lumber, and in conjunction with the event, people are encouraged to pick up light tour maps at Baldwin Lumber for dazzling Christmas sites throughout Lake County. The maps are now available.
